Yonge, Charles Duke, 1812-1891

Charles Duke Yonge (November 30, 1812 – November 30, 1891) was an English historian, classicist, and cricketeer. He wrote numerous works of modern history, and translated several classical works.

He was born in Eton, Buckinghamshire. He attended Oxford University, where he played first-class cricket in 1836. Later he was the Regius Professor of Modern History at Queen's College, Belfast. He died in Belfast.
